:: The symptoms::
Dengue can attack every person without restrictions. For knowing when one person is infected by the disease, these are the main symptoms:
1 – High fever; sometimes exceeding 40 degrees and lasting several days.
2 – Headaches, located pains in eyes, muscles, bones and joints; because of that Dengue is also notorious by the name of “breakbone fever”.
3 – Reddish spots can appear along the whole body and, in some cases, the occurrence of gum and nose's bleeding is possible.
4 – Other symptoms are the lack of appetite and both weakness and indisposition.
Another form of sickness exists: the hemorrhagic dengue.
The initial symptoms are the same in comparison with Usual Dengue's ones. The difference is in the fact of, when the fever ends, bleedings begin to happen, and the arterial flow begins to decrease. Furthermore, the lips begin to be purplish and the person begins to feel strong pains at the abdomen and alternates sleepiness with agitation. The commonest hemorrhages are the gastrointestinal, cutaneous, gingival and nasal ones. The hemorrhagic dengue is very dangerous and it can take a person to the death.
The person with dengue must be in rest, drink much liquid and use only medicine for alleviating pains and the fever. Please take this note: drugs based on acetylsalicylic acid as, for instance, the Aspirin ® and the ASA ®, are not indicated.
Every person who shows the symptoms of the disease must look for a doctor or a dressing station immediately.
